Terms & Conditions
Welcome to our kitchen!
To ensure a safe and seamless experience for everyone, please review our house rules and policies below.
By purchasing a ticket to a Jikoni event, you agree to these terms.
Accessibility & Stair Access
Our dinner party and culinary event venue is located in a historic space on the 2nd floor. Please be advised that the venue is accessible only by stairs; there is no elevator on-site. By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge this physical requirement for entry.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Because our events are intimate and our menus are specifically curated for a set number of guests, we finalize our prep and staffing well in advance.
-
More than 72 hours before the event: You may request a full refund or a one-time date change to a future event.
-
Within 72 hours of the event: Tickets are non-refundable. At this stage, ingredients have been sourced and our team has finalized preparations.
-
Ticket Transfers: If you can’t make it, you are welcome to gift or sell your ticket to a friend! Please email us at events@jikoni.co with your ticket reference number, their name, and any dietary restrictions as soon as possible. The original purchaser remains responsible for the booking.
Food Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
We want to make sure everyone has a chance to experience our AfriCali flavors, but safety is our top priority.
-
Declaration: Please declare any allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of booking. You have up to 72 hours before your reservation to make or update these details. After that time, ingredients have been sourced and our team has finalized preparations.
-
Accommodations: We are happy to accommodate vegetarian requests. However, we are currently unable to accommodate vegan, milk-free, or egg-free diets. If a menu item contains a protein you cannot consume, it will be substituted with a vegetarian dish.
-
Family-Style & Cross-Contamination: Our meals are shared family-style. All food is prepared in an open kitchen where cross-contamination may occur. While we take great care, we cannot guarantee 100% avoidance of cross-contact and may not be able to accommodate severe or life-threatening allergies.
-
Updates: Need to change your info? Email events@jikoni.co at least 72 hours before the event with your booking reference and specific needs. Our team will review your request and let you know if we can accommodate. This cut-off also applies to transferred and last-minute tickets.
Media Release (Photos & Videos)
We love capturing the joy of our dinner parties and culinary events! By attending an event at Jikoni, you consent to being filmed or photographed for use in Jikoni marketing materials (social media, website, etc.).
Liability & Assumption of Risk
While we strive to provide a safe environment, Jikoni is a working culinary space. By purchasing a ticket, you agree that:
-
Personal Injury: Jikoni (and its employees/owners) is not liable for any personal injury, including but not limited to slips, falls, or kitchen-related accidents, occurring during the event.
-
Personal Property: We are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal items brought into the event space.
-
Alcohol Consumption: For events where alcohol is served or brought via corkage, you agree to consume responsibly. Jikoni reserves the right to refuse service or ask a guest to leave if their conduct becomes unsafe or disruptive.
Age Restrictions
Jikoni events are strictly 21+ only.
-
Guest Representation: By purchasing a ticket, you affirm that you and all members of your party are at least 21 years of age.
-
Right to Verify: While we do not typically check IDs at the door, Jikoni reserves the right to request a valid, government-issued photo ID from any guest at any point during the event.
-
Compliance: If a guest is unable to provide valid proof of age upon request, or if it is determined that a guest is under the age of 21, they will be asked to leave the premises immediately.
-
No Refunds: In the event of a violation of this age policy, no refunds, partial refunds, or credits will be issued for the purchase.
Punctuality
Our dinners and culinary events are a shared experience and often begin with a communal toast or introduction. To respect the flow of the evening and your fellow guests, we ask that you arrive on time. If you are running late, please let us know!
Jikoni reserves the right to update these terms at any time. All guests will be subject to the terms in place at the time of their ticket purchase.
